If you’ve never had a BeaverTail, I suggest you seek out your local franchise ASAP. On Saturday night, I had one of the best things I’ve eaten in years. It was a chocolate/banana BeaverTail from the location at the Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. For those of you unfamiliar with the tasty dessert, here’s a bit about BeaverTails:
BeaverTails are a Canadian-based chain of pastry stands operated by BeaverTails Canada Inc. The chain’s namesake product is a line of fried dough pastries, individually hand stretched to resemble a beaver’s tail. The chain originated in Ottawa and now has franchises and licenses in three countries, Canada (Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia), the United States (Keystone, Breckenridge and Horseshoe in Colorado) and Saudi Arabia.
Honestly, if you have a severe sweet tooth, this will put you in a sugar induced coma, it’s THAT good. I also gave the Reese’s Pieces BeaverTail a try and that was absolutely amazing as well. It looks like there are a couple locations in Vancouver so if you have yet to try one of these BeaverTails pastries, you are seriously missing out! I wish I could give this thing a 10 out of 5 but since that’s not possible, this gets a 5/5 on the dessert/pastry/sweet tooth scale…simply amazing!
